Booking a car
Learn the requirements for booking a car in regions where GIMA operates.
General requirements for booking a car
- You must have a GIMA account to book a car. If you don’t have one, Sign Up Now with any of the following: an email address, Facebook account, Google account, or Apple ID. You’ll need to enter your SMS-enabled mobile phone number to complete account setup.
- You must meet our age requirement i.e., 21+ to rent a car.
- For first-time guests, we’ll ask for your:
- driver’s license number and expiration date
- home address
- payment method
- photo of yourself for your GIMA profile
- We may ask for additional photos including a copy of your Driver’s license and/or we may check your personal and/or business credit report, auto insurance score, and criminal background to verify your account. When you create an account, you give GIMA written instructions and permission in line with the Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws to obtain this information
Note: If you enter the same information (e.g, email address, driver’s license number, etc), as any other GIMA user when creating your account or requesting a trip, you won’t be able to book.
Note: GIMA has the right to decline your trip request and remove you from the platform because of your auto insurance score, criminal background, driving record, or any other reason. If we deny you access to GIMA, find out whether you can resolve your problem before booking a car. Email us at info@gimallc.com and a member of our team will reach out to you within 24hrs.
US additional requirements for booking
In addition to the general requirements listed above, you must meet these specific requirements to book a car in the US:
- Valid permanent license or an acceptable temporary license
